Mountain View Community Center and Communities In Schools of Puyallup have teamed up to provide an After School Kids Club program.

The Kids Club is at Stewart Elementary offered Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm and also serving Spinning Elementary students with transportation only to Stewart.  This program provides a safe, structured and fun environment for students to learn, play and grow.

We have a M.V.P ticket system in which are given to students who show the behavior we want to positively reinforce, such as: sharing, participating, helping another student, team work, sportsmanship, and listening to others. Once a certain amount of M.V.P tickets are accumulated, we throw the students a celebration.

In addition to this method of positive reinforcement, students will have the opportunity to sign up for clubs they are interested in such as; Art Club, Garden Club, STEM, Writing Club, Drama club and hopefully many more.

We also spend time helping the students with homework to improve their academics, as well as, leading them in “group activities” where all students can participate. Our goals at Kids Club:

·         Reducing delinquency through daily after school learning activities
·         Increasing student proficiency in reading, math and science.
·         Enhancing student character and confidence.
·         Improving health & wellness by promoting fitness and healthy habits.
·         Improving parent engagement in learning outcomes.

We partner with the community, parents, school staff and volunteers to demonstrate our model:

Build us. Inspire us. Watch Us Climb!
