The Office of Equity and Achievement facilitates two citizen committees and a peer network. Call (253) 840-8966 if you are interested in participating in either of these listed below.

Diversity Committee

Serves as advisory committee on issues of diversity within the Puyallup School District. Committee membership consists of Puyallup School District staff, parents, and community members. Unless otherwise noted, the Diversity Committee meets from 3:30 to 5 pm at the Education Support Center, 302 Second Street SE in Puyallup. 


Building Representatives

Each school building has a representative for the Puyallup School District Diversity Committee. These representatives are responsible for:

  • - Advising students, parents, and staff that they are there to listen, help, and document incidents of harrassment, intimidation, bullying, or discrimination. This information is forwarded to the building administrator, who then takes the appropriate response.

  • - Participating in monthly meetings with the Office of Equity and Achievement.

  • - Meeting weekly with their building administrators to share information.

  • - Having access to information, resources, and materials that may assist their colleagues.

Peer Support Network

 The Peer Support Network (PSN) provides opportunities for all minority employees to meet with the director of equity and achievement and the superintendent annually. More frequent meetings may be requested by employees or by the chief equity and achievement officer and superintendent.
