Mission

The Puyallup School District’s K-12 Library Program’s mission is to: 

 

assist all students and staff to become effective users and producers of ideas and information,
  
 

provide quality instruction that is collaborative, aligned with standards, and imparts a global perspective,  

lead digital and media literacy efforts by modeling the ethical use of information and providing training,  

build and maintain positive relationships by actively engaging school and community partnerships, 

provide equitable access by developing diverse collections and a welcoming environment, 

embrace a growth mindset through reflection and innovative practices,
 

protect intellectual freedom by defending free inquiry and choice, 

prepare students for college and career opportunities, 

cultivate a desire to read for curiosity and pleasure,

inspire.
