Attendance

Daily attendance and engagement of students is expected whether students are participating in classes in-person or remotely through distance learning.

During Continuous (Distance) Learning 2.0, attendance will be taken daily. Families are encouraged to report absences to the school office. In alignment with Puyallup School District Board Policy 3122, office personnel will determine if the absence is excused or unexcused.

Attendance will not impact overall grades. Recordings of live sessions will be posted by the end of the day for families not able to attend live.

Elementary:

Attendance will be taken daily in the morning when students are in live instructional sessions. If students do not attend a session by 10 a.m., they will be marked absent.

If for some reason your child is not able to attend LIVE sessions for the day, please report the absence to the school office.

Secondary:

At the secondary level, attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class period during live instructional sessions.

Students are expected to be “in” class on time, arrangements will be made for students who need to access materials outside of school hours.

Teachers will take attendance once for each live class period. Students are expected to be “in” class on time.  For students who need to access materials outside of school hours, recorded live sessions will be shared via Schoology at the end of each school day.
