Tools for equity, resources, and creativity

“I think it’s fair to say that personal computers have become the most empowering tool we’ve ever created. They’re tools of conjunction, they are tools of creativity, and they can be shaped by their user,” Bill Gates.

The Empowering Puyallup team has been instrumental in ensuring students have the toolsPHS student caring computer they need to be successful this school year and beyond. Over the past week during student orientation, the Empowering Puyallup team worked collaboratively with administrators and staff and deployed over 11,500 computers to students in seventh through 12th grade.

The students received a device specifically assigned to them which provides the digital resources for both the student and teachers.

The one-to-one devices are part of the completion of the Empowering Puyallup initiative. The technology-focused initiative was approved in December 2015 to align technology and instructional resources for students across the district. Empowering Puyallup provides equity for all students, makes online learning resources available at all times, and allows parents more access to their student’s learning.
