Current COVID-19 Requirements
Current COVID-19 Requirements for Summer School and 2021-22 School Year
Posted on 07/12/2021
As we have done throughout the Pandemic, Puyallup schools will continue to follow the latest WA State Department of Health (DOH) guidance. As such, the following COVID-19 requirements will be followed for summer school and the 2021-22 school year. Guidance continues to support full-time, in-person offerings for all students in the fall.

     • Health attestations and screenings no longer required.
     • Facemasks required inside at school sites regardless of vaccination status. DOH is currently reviewing requirements based off the latest CDC guidance for K-12 schools issued July 9.
     • Facemasks not required outdoors, regardless of vaccination status.
     • Facemasks not required at support sites if vaccinated.
     • Physical distancing: Classrooms will accommodate 3 feet of physical distancing; 6 feet will be accommodated outside the classroom to the greatest extent possible.

The Returning to School in the Fall FAQ document published by OSPI details what students, families, and staff can expect in the 2021-22 school year.

We will continue to monitor and communicate updates as our state health department aligns protocols for schools with CDC guidance.
